Max­i­mal Con­cepts’ lav­ish, Wong Kar-wai-es­que un­der­ground lair played the part as the epic set­ting for our sec­ond awards night, with guests milling about the Joyce Wang-de­signed space, en­joy­ing the kitchen’s sig­na­tures in canapé form and free-flow Per­rier-Jouët cham­pagne. Be­fore the awards cer­e­mony, guests were treated to the pre­miere of a unique Hong Kong Tatler-pro­duced video high­light­ing the best dishes of the year, ti­tled The Tatler Tast­ing, in cel­e­bra­tion of the new Top 20 restau­rants. Em­i­nent chefs Richard Ekke­bus, Hideaki Sato and Chan Yan-tak were all seen min­gling with fel­low in­dus­try friends.
