THE LOUNGE (JW MARRIOTT)

-

Ask any fan of the city’s bustling buffet scene and they would have heard of the lauded salad and noodle bars at JW Marriott’s The Lounge. Nestled within sleek interiors against sprawling city views, the joy of slurping homemade laksa shrimp roe noodles or a blue cheese dressingtossed mixed salad is elevated by an elaborate set up that can be described as an epicurean’s ultimate playground: a statementmaking variety of over 50 condiments, garden-fresh greens, noodles, meats, and fishballs await to be handpicked and personally whipped up by chefs. Easily overlooked between the gigantic pots of steaming stocks at the noodle station, make sure to order the wonton dumplings – the prawns wrapped within are fresh, sumptuous and absolutely delightful. Not surprisingly—awardwinning pastry master Andy Yeung helms the dessert station, after all—the decadent sweets on offer, from the signature peanut butter salted caramel chocolate truffle to the ice cream profiterole almost steal the show. Opt for the full buffet to try out all four sections (noodles, salads, Asian-inspired bistro and desserts)—topped with a glass of tipple from an extensive wine list for a true feast.
