My top 5 favourite hotels…
Villa Cimbrone in the elevated town of Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. The ocean views and the food are incomparable!
Isle of Eriska on the west coast of Scotland. It’s a private island hotel that overlooks Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Mountains. There are grazing cattle, seals and otters. Oftentimes they leave food out for a daily visit from two badgers – it’s pure magic! The Four Seasons Florence feels like a country estate in the middle of the city and consists of two Renaissance buildings on an 11-acre private park. I am never one to eat at the hotel when I travel, but the setting and the food here always have me making an exception to that rule.
Beho Beho, a safari lodge in Tanzania. There are only eight individual bandas, with everything from safari hikes to bush picnics taken care of. Truly a oncein-a-lifetime experience.
The Lowell Hotel in New York City – a cosy oasis in the middle of the busy city!
