Q1. Why Thane is the most popular living destination?
Ans. Thane city has got natural recourses like creaks on east, Yeoor hills and Sanjay Gandhi National sanctuary on east, nature’s gifts of beautiful lakes which enrich the beauty of the city and mark the rich tradition of the city. Along with this the infrastructural projects have taken place. Roads have been expanded and strengthened with new technology. DP is being maintained properly. Culturally and historically this city is very rich traditions. All this features lures the people as a living destination.
Q2. Monsoon has arrived, is civic body prepared for dilapidated buildings?
Ans. TMC administration has all set for monsoon preparedness. 24x7 disaster management cells have been started at all wards offices with required manpower and machinery.
Whereas dilapidated buildings are concern we have demolished almost 51 most dilapidated building out of 60.
In case of dilapidated buildings I have instructed to all executive engineers of the wards to inspect the buildings and report.
Q3. Looking at the whole illegal construction all over Mumbai and Thane. What measures does TMC is implementing to prevent these construction?
Ans. In case of Thane, we are continuously taking strict actions against illegal constructions.

Q4. City lacks some very basic amenities. What new measures does the Municipal Corporation implementing
and by what time?
Ans. We have been providing basic amenities to the citizens of Thane like, water and sanitation, solid waste management project. And where as infrastructure development is concern we are in good position compare to other cities. Still we have to upgrade the amenities.
The city did not have a proper drainage system, the northern and the eastern did not have it so what we have done is we have given out tenders. So when this
is completed then the city will be 100% covered.
Q5. With monorail and metro launch do you think they will prove effective on the city’s traffic congestion Are there any plan in Thane to have the same transportation?
Ans. MMRDA is the main organization which is executing all the plans and Thane is already taken into account, and they are already in the process in acquiring land.
The Mono and the Metro rail will all happen underground. Now that would be a great incentive for the city.
Q6. What about the slum spread all over the city? Does Thane have any schemes for its slum dwellers?
Ans. We have already implemented SRD scheme for slum dwellers through private build- ers.
Then Walmiki Awas Yojana and now Basic services to urban poor (BSUP) under JNNURM, Rajiv Awas Yojana are also implementing for slum dwellers in Thane City. Now we have submitted a proposal for cluster
Engineer College. Comment?
Ans. Yes, TMC is planning to promote setting up a national level technical institution, which will create new identity for

Q8. What challenges do you face at Thane Municipal Corporation as commissioner?
Ans. As a commissioner I sincerely feel that upgrade the infrastructures and promoting legal housing in the city is my priority.
It is not difficult but challenging, with the challenges comes opportunity.
Like I have mentioned that Thane has a lot of potential and resources, there would be few issues like drainage and rapid growth etc but that is the way of life for every city and we are doing our best to make the city sound and a comfortable place to stay in and visit.
Q9. Which further development decision can we expect form the civic body?
Ans. As I told that upgrading the infra projects as city’s requirement I will concentrate on that in coming days. And another issue is to promote legal housing.
Q10. What development measures do the corporation takes for its employees?
Ans. We are promoting training programme for the employees to boost their moral.

Ans. Thane is very vibrant and beautiful city. My message would be that Thane is a happening city catching up with Mumbai and other metropolitan cities in India, we have a lot of Mumbai people coming to Thane for work and visit aspect, many have come here and this is also a city that has fulfilled a lot of aspirations.
Thane is a land of opportunities, and close to the financial hub Mumbai. We want to keep the city open to people who have ambitions and dreams and for many business, School Institutions and Corporate houses.
