Ahmed­abad Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion to build 10,000 houses

Af­ter first draw, Ahmed­abad Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion (AMC) will con­struct 10,000 EWS and Low In­come Group (LIG) hous­ing in the city. Like other bids, the al­lot­ment of th­ese houses will be through a draw.

Lo­ca­tions of th­ese houses are yet to be an­nounced, but sources said they will be built on some old mill land. The re­main­ing houses will come up near in­dus­trial pock­ets of the city. AMC has ap­pointed spe­cial con­sul­tants so that the project does not face any hur­dles. For in­stance, in the fi­nan­cial state­ments for the con­sul­tants, the AMC has of­fered sep­a­rate fees for get­ting ap­provals from var­i­ous gov­ern­ment agen­cies. AMC will pay the con­sul­tant a sum of Rs 50,000 per plot for each of the in­di­vid­ual clear­ance like Ar­chae­o­log­i­cal Sur­vey of In­dia, rail­ways, Air­ports Au­thor­ity of In­dia and a Rs 3lakh per plot for ap­proval from the Union min­istry of en­vi­ron­ment and forests.
