Kalyan a far flung ex­tended sub­urbs of Mumbai is very densely pop­u­lated town hous­ing 12.5 lakh peo­ple. The ad­ja­cent Dom­bivali is also greatly pop­u­lated town 20 kms from Thane. Re­cent rail­way rage and out burst of cit­i­zen was to show frus­tra­tion of com­muters from th­ese ar­eas to main Mumbai for em­ploy­ment and other work. Kalyan is about 40 kms by road from Chem­bur and 20 kms from Thane. It takes two hours to travel to Kalyan , Dom­bivali, Ul­has­na­gar, Am­ber­nath and Bad­la­pur. In the name of town­ships and af­ford­able hous­ing peo­ple are buy­ing night­mare of trains and travel. With the same price, say 3000/to 4000/- a very good ac­com­mo­da­tion is avail­able in Thane and Navi Mumbai. The dis­as­ter wait­ing for hap­pen on mount­ing bur­den on rail­ways where 10,000 acres of land be­ing de­vel­oped as res­i­den­tial seg­ment with­out any in­fra­struc­ture. Roads are bad or there are no roads at all, wa­ter scarcity, power cuts and roam­ing charges ap­ply for mo­bile users of Mumbai cir­cle. Dis­as­ter awaits for trav­ellers of Kalyan and Dom­bivali.
