Celebrating its most iconic motif, the peacock, Parisbased Mellerio Joaillier chose to name its new collection Indra, one of the most powerful gods of Hindu mythology.

Legend goes that originally male peacocks had a grey and brown plumage. One day, a peacock saw Indra being chased by demon Ravana. Despite being powerful, the warrior god was scared and had no place to hide. The bird then spread his long feathers behind which Indra hid easily, and Ravana passed by without noticing him. Pleased with the bird, Indra asked him for a boon. The peacock asked him to give him a colourful plumage, and the wish was granted.

The collection consists of rings, clip earrings, danglers and pendants dressed with green tourmalines and sapphires on white gold, and orange spessartite garnets, spinels and pink sapphires on pink gold.
