To pro­pel the In­dian Aviation fur­ther, the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia has re­cently re­leased the Na­tional Civil Aviation Pol­icy, 2016. The aim of the Gov­ern­ment is to pro­vide an ecosys­tem for the har­mo­nized growth of var­i­ous aviation sub­sec­tors, i.e. Air­lines, Air­ports, Cargo, Aerospace Man­u­fac­tur­ing, Skill Devel­op­ment, etc. The Na­tional Civil Aviation Pol­icy (NCAP 2016) is a step in that di­rec­tion and pro­mo­tion of Air Cargo is one of the ma­jor pol­icy ar­eas cov­ered un­der NCAP.

One of the frame­work ex­pected to en­sure growth of air cargo busi­ness is the con­sti­tu­tion of ‘The Air Cargo Lo­gis­tics Pro­mo­tion Board (ACLPB)’ to pro­mote growth in air cargo by way of cost re­duc­tion, ef­fi­ciency im­prove­ment and bet­ter in­ter-min­is­te­rial co­or­di­na­tion.
