“AKGEC STU­DENTS WIN MIT­SUBISHI ELEC­TRIC GOLD CUP-2017”

The project team “In­no­va­tors” of Ajay Ku­mar Garg En­gi­neer­ing Col­lege (AKGEC), Ghazi­abad has won the ‘Mit­subishi Elec­tric In­no­va­tors Gold Cup-2017’ com­pe­ti­tion. the stu­dents won a cash prize of Rs.1, 00,000/along with fully spon­sored plant visit to Mit­subishi, Ja­pan for the team of Stu­dents and Fac­ulty. Mit­subishi Elec­tric Cup-2017, a Na­tional Level Science & Tech­nol­ogy Com­pe­ti­tion for Fac­tory Au­toma­tion Skill for en­gi­neer­ing stu­dents, or­ga­nized by Mit­subishi Elec­tric In­dia (MEI) in as­so­ci­a­tion with Col­lege of En­gi­neer­ing Pune (COEP) was held on 17-18 Feb, 2017 at COEP cam­pus, Pune. The theme for this com­pe­ti­tion was ‘In­tel­li­gent Man­u­fac­tur­ing for Greener To­mor­row’. Par­tic­i­pat­ing teams were re­quired to in­de­pen­dently de­sign and pro­duce a com­plete set of de­vices / mod­els by us­ing Mit­subishi Elec­tric fac­tory au­toma­tion prod­ucts, based on eco fac­tory con­cepts.

Start­ing with over 200 teams from var­i­ous col­leges all over In­dia, 35 projects were short­listed through mul­ti­ple sub­mis­sions of ab­stracts, tech­ni­cal ex­per­tise in project, in­no­va­tion, so­cial ac­cep­tance, re­ports and viva. These projects were fi­nally eval­u­ated by a panel of judges from Ja­pan for De­sign, In­no­va­tion, Sys­tem Op­ti­miza­tion, Gen­eral Safety and Ef­fi­ciency and Over­all pre­sen­ta­tion/demon­stra­tion.

The nine multi dis­ci­plinary Cen­tres of Ex­cel­lence at AKGEC in­clude a state– of–art “Drive & Con­trol Lab” estab­lished in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Mit­subishi Elec­tric. These Cen­tres fa­cil­i­tate in­dus­try rel­e­vant train­ing and in­no­va­tive projects in all au­toma­tion re­lated tech­nolo­gies.
