Airports India - - NEWS - Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI

Dear Readers,

We, at AAI, welcome the Indian Monsoon with open arms and hope India has a normal monsoon this year. I am happy to share with you that with the inauguration of the new Terminal Building of Gorakhpur Airport, we are seeing tremendous growth from Gorakhpur Airport and we expect more flights from Gorakhpur as we are going to increase the facilities there.

The world is witnessing rapid growth in the aviation sector and to cope up with fast pace of this growth, AAI, as a leading airport operator and the sole air navigation service provider in India, requires fast, accurate and advanced tools for the job of simulation. In this issue, we feature Electro Magnetic Airport Control Survey (EMACS) – the futuristic approach to air navigation. EMACS is an advanced tool for the job of Radio Converge and Signal Analysis assessment of Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) facilities.

In this issue, we talk about Jammu - the land of grand, ancient temples and beautiful palaces. With the consistent traffic growth at Jammu Airport, the existing airport infrastructure needed a revamp and modification. AAI took up the project for expansion and modification of terminal building of Jammu Airport in the year 2013 and the new facilities are soon to be inaugurated.

AAI’S approach towards CSR and sustainability is to empower under-privileged communities near its airports so as to promote an environment of inclusive growth. Recently, as a part of CSR, a new school building for Dum Dum Airport Girls’ High School was inaugurated at Kolkata Airport.

Modernization of airports and adding more airports is one of the key agenda of AAI. We are working tirelessly towards making our airport facilities world class by constantly upgrading the infrastructure and undertaking new initiatives to meet the future requirements. We are committed to make a positive impact on the community and environment.

In August, we celebrate our Independence Day with pride and happiness. Other major festivals like Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami are also celebrated with a lot of fervour and joy in this month.

I wish all our flyers a very Happy Independence Day. I am sure the air travelers will enjoy our airports and continue to travel throughout the country.
