Re­mov­ing the con­troller from the aero­drome con­trol tower im­plies that they can no longer use the out-of-the-win­dow view to vis­ually sur­vey the air­port and its vicin­ity; Reli­a­bil­ity of a ded­i­cated data com­mu­ni­ca­tion net­work, es­pe­cially at re­mote sites; The im­pact of hard­ware (cam­era, con­troller work­ing po­si­tions) fail­ures might be fa­tal for op­er­a­tions; Cy­ber-se­cu­rity has be­come an im­por­tant source of con­cern within the avi­a­tion com­mu­nity and re­mote tower op­er­a­tions have the po­ten­tial to in­crease the vul­ner­a­bil­i­ties of the sys­tem given the very na­ture of the con­cept; Traf­fic sep­a­ra­tion, es­pe­cially for VFR flights ; Com­mu­ni­ca­tion pro­ce­dures and reg­u­la­tions for airspace de­sign around RCT airports; Real time weather data and run­way sur­face sta­tus.
