‘WINGS IN­DIA 2018’ was or­gan­ised by FICCI jointly with the Min­istry of Civil Avi­a­tion and Air­ports Author­ity of In­dia (AAI). The theme of the four-day bi­en­nial event this year was ‘In­dia – Global Avi­a­tion Hub’. The event was or­gan­ised at AAI’S Begum­pet Air­port, Hy­der­abad. Shri K. T. Rama Rao, Min­is­ter for IT E&C, MAUD, In­dus­tries & Com­merce, Gov­ern­ment of Telangana, in­au­gu­rated the event.

Shri R. N. Choubey, Sec­re­tary, Civil Avi­a­tion was also present on the in­au­gu­ral day and em­pha­sised that the Gov­ern­ment is com­mit­ted to con­nect­ing the dis­tant cities and towns of the coun­try to in­crease re­gional con­nec­tiv­ity across In­dia. Shri Sandip So­many, Sr. Vice Pres­i­dent, FICCI, said that RCS-UDAN mer­its a spe­cial men­tion. It pro­vides greater con­nec­tiv­ity to un­der-served and un­served air­ports of the coun­try. Shri B. S. Bhullar, Di­rec­tor Gen­eral, DGCA also graced the oc­ca­sion. Smt. Usha Pad­hee, Jt. Sec­re­tary, MOCA de­liv­ered the vote of thanks. Dur­ing the in­au­gu­ral ses­sion, a white pa­per and ex­hibitors direc­tory were un­veiled by the dig­ni­taries.

The four-day event wel­comed the pres­ence of 125 ex­hibitors and 35 CEOS. WINGS IN­DIA 2018 also wit­nessed rep­re­sen­ta­tion from 10 coun­tries – USA, Ja­pan, UK, Rus­sia, Sin­ga­pore, France, Ger­many, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Italy and Iran. Be­sides, 15 air­craft by ATR, Honda Tru­jet, Gulf­stream, Boe­ing, Em­braer, Das­sault, Club One Air, Aerotek, Zoom Air, Air In­dia, NAL and oth­ers were also show­cased for static dis­play. Be­sides the con­fer­ence and ex­hi­bi­tion, round­tables on tourism, cargo, lo­gis­tics and skills along with G2B and B2B meet­ings were sched­uled. More than 300 B2B meet­ings were held dur­ing the course of the event.

AAI par­tic­i­pated in the event in a grand man­ner by of­fer­ing its venue for

the pro­gramme along with pro­vid­ing lo­gis­ti­cal sup­port for or­gan­is­ing the event suc­cess­fully. AAI has also show­cased its achieve­ments, projects, train­ing es­tab­lish­ments and other mer­its by erect­ing a stall in the area mea­sur­ing 36 Sq. m. The AAI stall was in­au­gu­rated for­mally by Shri Anuj Aggarwal, Mem­ber (HR), AAI, on March 8, 2018, and the same was vis­ited by Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon’ble Min­is­ter for IT E&C, MAUD, In­dus­tries & Com­merce, Gov­ern­ment of Telangana, Shri Jayant Sinha, Hon’ble Min­is­ter of State for Civil Avi­a­tion, Smt. Usha Pad­hee, Jt. Sec­re­tary, MOCA, Shri V. P. Agrawal, Ex-chair­man, AAI, Shri Ruby Lal, Ex-mem­ber (Op­er­a­tions), AAI, along with sev­eral other dig­ni­taries from the avi­a­tion fra­ter­nity. The dis­play pan­els of the stall were ap­pre­ci­ated by all. The AAI stall cov­ered the RCS-UDAN scheme of the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia, the train­ing in­fra­struc­ture of AAI, GA­GAN, CATFM, ACI-ASQ rat­ing awarded to AAI Air­ports, R&D Cen­tre of AAI, re­cently in­au­gu­rated air­port ter­mi­nals of AAI, AAICLAS and oth­ers. The theme and de­sign of the AAI stall was deeply ap­pre­ci­ated by the au­di­ence. The ATC Tower de­signed in the stall gath­ered spe­cial at­ten­tion at­tract­ing many vis­i­tors to AAI’S stall.

The event was a grand suc­cess at­tract­ing global avi­a­tion en­thu­si­asts and ac­com­mo­dat­ing fruit­ful di­a­logue on the fu­ture of avi­a­tion.
