Who are finally convicted by the courts recently? One verdict is about the 2G Scam and other is of Maharashtra’s Ex-CM Ashok Chavan. The first was a Rs. 1.72 Lakh crore scam while the other was of selling off the Adarsh Housing Society flats in Mumbai to big shots illegally while they were made for the martyrs and their families. These two scams had actually doomed the prospects of Congress in 2014 as it was ruling in Maharashtra and in the centre. People chose to oust Congress and elected Narendera Modi as the Prime Minister. Now, the court absolves all the accused in the 2G Scam and in the Adarsh Society Scam case, the governor’s sanction to prosecute Ashok Chavan was abolished by the Bombay High Court. What all these verdicts show actually? Either the scams like 2G and Adarsh Society were purely bogus or the government didn’t do genuine efforts to make it reach to a conclusion!

Both verdicts dwarf the stature of CBI. In both cases, the CBI put up too week arguments and evidence and got the verdict favouring the defenders. The CBI is said “caged parrot” of the central government; and this time the parrot damages its own master’s reputation – the BJP government. In 2014, public had voted against the Congress, mired with corruptions.

If the PM Modi is really the most powerful, he should punish the CBI officers who either carried out a false case in a bogus scam or weakened the case to protect big shots. The call to make CBI autonomous like CAG becomes a need of the hour. The judge says the prosecution didn’t produce substantial evidence then why the judge kept sitting over the case? Why the judge didn’t order the CBI or the government to produce more and substantial evidences?

The public has a reason to doubt that all the political leaders are hand in glove in order to protect each other in the time of crisis. Sometimes, regional politicians like Chautala, Lalu and Madhu Koda are caught by the law of the land.

It seems the political leaders are taken as the great and pure personalties in India. They even spend time in jail in luxurious ways. Recently, convicted in the Rs. 950 crore Fodder Scam case, Lalu Yadav compared himself with Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King when headed for jail in Ranchi. How boastful and selfish such politicians are! They got convicted due to plundering the people’s wealth; but would chant the names of great human beings for a political harvest. If assessed genuinely, the political leaders need to be awarded double punishment as they live in the society enforcing maximum fear.
