ATDC, Groz-Beckert Asia ink deal for vocational training
Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), the largest vocational training institute for apparel industry in India, has signed an agreement with Groz-Beckert Asia (GBA) – a leading manufacturer of precision component and tools, felting needles etc. – to start the ‘CSR Initiative for Vocational Training’ at ATDC Chandigarh. Gurpreet Kaur, Registrar, Academic Affairs on behalf of ATDC and Y.P. Sharma, GM, F&A on behalf of GBA signed the deal. Dr Anton Reinfelder, MD, GBA; Shashi Kanwal, CSR Consultant, GBA; Harish Dua, LMC Member ATDC & Managing Director, KG Export; Dipika, RA, CSDM, Vikas Puri, Regional Head – North East, DyStar India; and many others were also present on the occasion. The agreement will allow GrozBeckert to sponsor the training programme for 15 students.
Out of these 15, five students will be enrolled for a three-year B.Voc degree course, while 10 will be enrolled for a one-year diploma course, to be conducted at ATDC centres in Chandigarh and Ludhiana, respectively. “This deal will be vital in strengthening women empowerment in India as the majority of the students of ATDC are women/girls only. Therefore, the support which GrozBeckert Asia Pvt. Ltd. is extending to the students will greatly help and motivate more and more students to join our Vocational Programmes which focus on employability,” commented Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO, ATDC on the signing of the deal.
