Hand­loom and Handicraft Camps from Oct. 7-17

The Gov­ern­ment of In­dia has de­cided to or­ga­nize Hand­loom and Handicraft Camps through­out the coun­try from 7-17 Oc­to­ber this year. The 10-day camp event will be or­ga­nized by Min­istry of Tex­tiles un­der the ini­tia­tive “Hastkala Sahyog Shivir” in as­so­ci­a­tion with var­i­ous State Gov­ern­ments. This was an­nounced by the Tex­tile Min­istry in a state­ment. The camps ded­i­cated to Pan­dit Deen­dayal Upad­hyay Garib Kalyan Varsh, the birth cen­te­nary year of Pan­dit Deen­dayal Upad­hyay, will cover more than 200 hand­loom clus­ters and 200 handicraft hubs across the na­tion. At the camps, weavers and ar­ti­sans will be of­fered var­i­ous ser­vices, like is­suance of credit fa­cil­i­ties through MUDRA scheme; as­sis­tance for tech­no­log­i­cal upgra­da­tions un­der Hathkargha Sam­vard­han Sa­hay­ata scheme; dis­tri­bu­tion of modern tools and equip­ment; is­suance of Yarn Pass Book; en­roll­ment un­der IGNOU/ NIOS cour­ses; ac­cess to Com­mon Ser­vice Cen­tre fa­cil­i­ties and buy­erseller meets and ex­pos.
