Handloom and Handicraft Camps from Oct. 7-17
The Government of India has decided to organize Handloom and Handicraft Camps throughout the country from 7-17 October this year. The 10-day camp event will be organized by Ministry of Textiles under the initiative “Hastkala Sahyog Shivir” in association with various State Governments. This was announced by the Textile Ministry in a statement. The camps dedicated to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Garib Kalyan Varsh, the birth centenary year of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, will cover more than 200 handloom clusters and 200 handicraft hubs across the nation. At the camps, weavers and artisans will be offered various services, like issuance of credit facilities through MUDRA scheme; assistance for technological upgradations under Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata scheme; distribution of modern tools and equipment; issuance of Yarn Pass Book; enrollment under IGNOU/ NIOS courses; access to Common Service Centre facilities and buyerseller meets and expos.
