Vignettes of the two-day 66th NGF

The 66th Na­tional Gar­ment Fair was a stel­lar success, giv­ing a plat­form to estab­lished and up­com­ing busi­ness­men alike. Kash­mira Mirza and Amanda D’Souza speak to the Ex­hibitors at the 66th NGF to bring you the buzz, straight from the Venue. Pho­to­graphs: Vikrant Saple.

“We’ve vis­ited the NGF be­fore – in July – but this is our first time as par­tic­i­pat­ing ex­hibitors. We are very ex­cited and are ex­pect­ing a good turnout. We’re hop­ing to do both, net­work with new clients as well as make many book­ings. Hav­ing at­tended the July Fair, we have high ex­pec­ta­tions for this fair. “Cus­tomers are com­ing and go­ing but it is not as buzzing as ear­lier Fairs. We have par­tic­i­pated in pre­vi­ous edi­tions of the fair but, our main in­ter­est lies in the July Fair. “The CMAI ex­cels at plan­ning ex­hi­bi­tions and they are the num­ber one or­gan­i­sa­tion within the ap­parel in­dus­try. The NGF is al­ways beau­ti­fully or­gan­ised. It was heart­en­ing to see cus­tomers lin­ing up even be­fore 10 AM, when the fair of­fi­cially opens. Strolling around by 11 AM, we even saw peo­ple al­ready tak­ing or­ders. The en­thu­si­asm of the par­tic­i­pants and the vis­i­tors as well is ex­tremely in­fec­tious! In terms of trends, the in­dus­try is go­ing through a bit of a slow pe­riod, but I am hop­ing some­thing will come up soon. “When it comes to CMAI, ex­pec­ta­tions have al­ways been high. We are very ex­cited and pos­i­tive about the forth­com­ing Spring-Sum­mer ’18 Sea­son.
