Ac­tor Sooraj Pan­choli to Launch Ath­leisure Brand

Ac­tor Sooraj Pan­choli will launch an ath­leisure brand next year, which is tar­geted at the youth and will fea­ture an ex­clu­sive cloth­ing line. He will be ac­tively in­volved in the mar­ket­ing and de­sign of the sports­wear brand.

The fit­ness in­dus­try in In­dia is grow­ing at 30 per cent year on year. The av­er­age age bracket for In­dian fit­ness en­thu­si­asts is 20 to 35 years, which makes up the ma­jor­ity pop­u­la­tion of young In­dian stu­dents and pro­fes­sion­als. To be able to tap into this big chunk of the In­dian pop­u­la­tion, with avail­able dis­pos­able in­come and the affin­ity for fit­ness, brands fo­cus hugely on the ac­tive wear seg­ment.

Fit­ness no more is an ur­ban phe­nom­e­non. The top met­ros con­trib­ute the most but other cities like Luc­know, Jaipur, In­dore and Ludhiana are not far be­hind in their con­tri­bu­tion to the fit­ness in­dus­try. Pan­choli joins a host of In­dian celebri­ties like Vi­rat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff to own fash­ion brands.
