ASSOCHAM TN organised the Pollution Control Conclave with the theme 'Emerging Technology in Industrial Pollution & Environmental Engineering' to bring together the industry, government, entrepreneurs, academics and other stakeholders closer to realise a higher level of collaboration to de-carbonize and create a sustainable economy by harnessing technology.
Dr. Vinod Sur ana, Co-Chairman, ASSOCHAM Southern Regional Committee said that the Environment Ministry has released a draft of the Environment 2015report which states that the loss to the Indian economy from water resource depletion is pegged at 6% by 2050 if the country continues to manage its water the same way. Besides the immense public health impacts of environmental pollution, there is considerable evidence that environmental pollution is impacting human productivity & economic growth. Mr. Narasimhan Santhanam, Co Chairman, ASSOCHAM Energy Committee said that while the technology aspect of pollution prevention and control was important, the human attitudes and awareness was more important.
