ILLNESS TO WELLNESS
Incontinuation of Diabetes Awareness, Prevention & Wellness Programs, ASSOCHAM Foundation For Corporate Social Responsibility (AFCSR) under the kind aegis and leadership of The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) with the support of our highly esteemed member ITC are organizing Free Diabetes Health Camps across Delhi to cover maximum number of beneficiaries.
Before organizing the camp, our officers approach every household and cover almost all the residents with an objective to cascade information and spread awareness among the people about Camp activities through distribution of Diabetes IEC materials. Also, bulk mailing
and messages through Social Media are circulated by RWA Officers for spreading awareness regarding the camp. During the month of December 16 camps were organized across Delhi. During these camps, our field officers visited about 7,890 households, covering almost 31,560 persons. About 2,160 persons visited these camps, around 1,761 registered and tested Random Blood Sugar (RBS) during these camps and 1,127persons underwent HBAlC testing. About 1,345 visitors of all age groups watched the street play (riukked natak).
Visitors registered their valuable feedback and highly appreciated the efforts done by all under the flagship of ASSOCHAM and its highly esteemed members.
Diabetes, a life style disease, is a growing threat, which can be prevented through lifestyle changes. It can be prevented by 30 minutes of daily moderate exercise and a healthy diet. Studies have been conducted which suggest that if we create awareness among young pre-diabetic adults, then we can reduce the incidence of diabetes to a great extent, as it is rightly said 'Prevention is better than Cure'.
