Ashok Ley­land bags orders for 3600 buses

Ashok Ley­land has bagged orders for about 3600 buses from var­i­ous State Transport Un­der­tak­ings (STUs) in the cur­rent fis­cal. These orders would be ex­e­cuted in the cur­rent fi­nan­cial year which would help Ashok Ley­land in fur­ther­ing its lead­er­ship po­si­tion in buses.

Do­mes­tic mar­ket share of Ashok Ley­land in trucks in­creased from 29.2% in Q1 last year to 30.1% in the Q1 of the cur­rent year. Mar­ket share for do­mes­tic buses has in­creased from 33.2% in Q1 last year to 35.9% in Q1 of the cur­rent year. Over­all, M&HCV vol­umes of Ashok Ley­land have in­creased by 18.6% as com­pared to in­dus­try growth of 14.5%.

Vinod K Dasari, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Ashok Ley­land, said, “We con­tinue to main­tain growth in the do­mes­tic M&HCV mar­ket and be­lieve that the in­dus­try should post 15% to 20% growth in the cur­rent fi­nan­cial year. Ashok Ley­land will con­tinue to ex­pand its net­work, launch new prod­ucts, and in­tro­duce cus­tomer-cen­tric ini­tia­tives which would help it to main­tain its lead. The fo­cus on ex­ports, De­fence, and af­ter mar­ket will con­tinue.”
