Ashok Leyland launches Guru, Partner to increase market share
Ashok Leyland Ltd (ALL) has launched new products, GURU and Partner in the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment respectively. In the medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) segment, above 7.5 tonne category, the company has a market share of around 30%. GURU has been thoughtfully designed and built on 4 important pillars – mileage, payload, reliability and comfort - which are critical to the success of a business. GURU will be available in both BSIII and BSIV variants and can cater to a wide range of applications in the 12T and 13T category, with its different load body options, equipped with the latest H Series engine with Common Rail fuel injection system and other reliable aggregates.
GURU offers an ideal combination of best-in-class fuel efficiency and highest actual payload, ensuring maximum returns for its owners. After the commercially successful ‘DOST’, ‘PARTNER’ is India’s first airconditioned LCV goods vehicle with best-in-class comfort from Ashok Leyland.
‘Partner’ is an upgraded version of the earlier one, which was launched when Ashok Leyland had a joint venture with the Japanese auto major Nissan. Both the companies have decided to part ways last year. As per the agreement ALL has got the IPR for LCV products from Nissan. GURU is in the price range of Rs 14.35 lakhs to 16.72 lakhs including VAT. The PARTNER 6-tyre, 14 ft HSD BS IV is priced at Rs 10.59 lakhs. PARTNER 4-tyre, 14 ft HSD BS IV is priced at Rs 10.29 lakhs. Prices are ex-showroom, Chennai.
