DMG Mori presents next generation technologies
DMG Mori AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT, one of Germany’s largest manufacturers of cutting machine tools and a leading global manufacturer of CNCcontrolled lathes and milling machines, has introduced a slew of new technologies in India. It has installed about 400 machines in the country so far. The company plans to increase its penetration levels. Towards this it had showcased a host of new machines at the recently conducted IMTEX.
Drawing on the experience of over 10,000 installed vertical
machining centers, DMG MORI has completely redesigned the third generation of the DMC V series. Together with its sister machines – the DMC 6503 V, DMC 850 V and DMC 1450 V – the DMC 1150 V boosts the performance of vertical machining centres from DMG MORI into a new dimension.
The key feature that ensures the “Best in Class” status of this product line is its unique concept that includes a highly stable machine bed with an overhead slide unit, 28% larger guide ways and 25% larger ball screws – the perfect foundation for maximum process stability. The innovative thermal management with cooling of the ball screw nuts and guides in all 3 linear axes ensures maximum component precision.
DMC 1150 V
With the DMC 1150 V, DMG MORI presents a new construction size in the field of vertical machining centres. Travel paths of 1,150 x 700 x 550 mm, the large rigid table with a clamping surface of 1,450 x 750 mm, and a loading capacity of 1,500 kg allow the machining of an extensive range of components. Like the other machines of this series, the standard equipment of the DMC 1150 V includes a 20,000 rpm. speedMASTER spindle with a torque of 130 Nm, rapid traverses of up to 42 m/min and a 20-pocket tool magazine.
The DMC 1150 V offers a multitude of options, making the vertical machining centre a productive addition in any production environment. In terms of spindle options, an SK50 303 Nm spindle is available for heavy machining and the tool magazine can be expanded up to 120 tools. In order to enable ergonomic and intuitive operation, the DMC 1150 V, like all new high-tech machines from DMG MORI, comes in the new joint design and is equipped with CELOS.
The latter ensures the fastest way from the idea to the finished product, while the CELOS APPs allow consistent management, documentation and visualization of order, process and machine data. As an alternative to the 21.5” ERGOline panel with CELOS, the machine is also available with a 19“ERGOline® with HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 or Operate 4.5 with SIEMENS 840D solution line.
DMU 65 monoBLOCK
In its flexible extension ranges encompassing the 5-axis machine with its dynamic NC swivelwivel rotary table, the DMU 65 monoBLOCK onoBLOCK masters all discipliness in milling technology, from roughing ghing through to finishing att an uncompromisingly highgh level and at a very attractiveve price.
With its DMU 65 monoBLOCK, oBLOCK, DMG MORI is offering a world class machine for all fields of industry. Its uncompromisingly high quality becomes apparent in its design details. This has resulted, for instance, in conjunctionon with the high-speed rotary axes of the NC swivel rotary table, in a remarkable arkable increase in dynamics, and, amongst others, the 45mm5mm wide roller guides maximisee process stability. Moreover, thee DMU 65 monoBLOCK impresses with its three-point support for shortest possible start-up times. With its 8 square metre footprint, it is the most compact machine of its class.
DMU 80 FD duoBLOCK
The 5-axis simultaneous machining is increasingly being developed as a key technology. Furthermore, automation and combined milling and turning are becoming more important. With about 4,500 duoBLOCK machines successfully sold, DMG MORI has materially dictated this development. One of these models is the DMU 80 FD duoBLOCK universal machining centre demonstrating further enhanced flexibility and productivity with improvements of 30% in their core characteristics of precision, performance and efficiency.
The NLX series from DMG MORI has always stood for perfect results in turning. Numerous equipment options also make the NLX 2000 a productive companion in demanding production environments. It is an extremely rigid, high-precision CNC lathe that is able to machine a multitude of different work pieces. Decisive features in this respect include its robust machine bed and outstanding milling performance that derives from the use of a BMT (Built-in Motor Turret). With its space-saving design the NLX 2000 also enables simple integration of automation solutions, so that its scope of application ranges from the serial production of automobile parts right through to the highly elaborate and high quality machining of parts for the aircraft industry.

Since then, it has been continuously improved upon. Using a common interface for machine and office PC, both manufacturing and production planning staff can manage, document and visualize the sequence of jobs and processes as well as the machine data.
