WABCO India’s Mahindra World City plant wins Future Ready Factory Award
WABCO India, a leading supplier of technologies and services that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, recently received the “Future Ready Factory Award” for its Mahindra World City plant.
This award was granted to WABCO India in the auto ancillary sector based on the plant’s operational performance and business results. It reflects an independent assessment of a global manufacturing excellence model and comparative metrics within the industry sector. The recognition also further differentiates WABCO’s Mahindra World City plant as one of India’s best facilities in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Analyst firm Frost & Sullivan launched the India Manufacturing Excellence Awards 14 years ago and has partnered with more than 600 manufacturing companies in India to enhance their manufacturing competitiveness using a global framework for mapping excellence.
WABCO’s Mahindra World City plant also recently received the “Export Excellence Award” from the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The plant secured the first position for its contribution to India’s net foreign exchange earnings for 2015-16. “Export Excellence Awards” recognise the contribution of outstanding engineering and services companies in India’s Special Economic Zones. “We are honoured to receive these prestigious awards for global manufacturing excellence in our industry and for recognition by the Government of India for our Mahindra World City plant as India’s premiere export hub,” P Kaniappan, Managing Director, WABCO India Limited, said. “This worldclass plant has won 3 awards in 2017 alone, including the Total Productive Maintenance Excellence Award from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, another benchmark of global manufacturing competitiveness.” “WABCO continuously leverages its highquality, cost-effective manufacturing solutions in India to anticipate and seize domestic as well as global opportunities. At WABCO India, we take pride in innovating safety, efficiency and connectivity technologies for manufacturers of commercial vehicles and passenger cars while contributing strongly to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, which is aligned with the government’s vision to make India, a global hub for manufacturing,” he said.
