In less than a year of its foray into the commercial vehicle industry, HOV Auto is fast expanding base in the domestic market. With a precise focus on the heavy commercial vehicles from the initial stages, the company started off with 3 components including leaf spring suspensions in bi-axle and tri-axle configurations, trailer axles and S-cam drum brake system.

The Gurugram-headquartered company had presented 2 new products at the Auto Expo Component show for commercial vehicle trailer industry: a 10.2 tonne single tyre car carrier axle and 13 tonne integrated hub assembly. Manufactured at its Gujarat plant, the trailer axle has a wheel track of 2400mm and has been developed keeping in mind the Indian road conditions with optional features of ABS and automatic slack adjusters. Integrated hub assembly is a rugged axle that runs with the oil lubrication, rather than standard grease lubrication, for better life.

Largely driven by the pentup demand post GST, good replacement-led demand across tractor trailer segment and stricter implementation of CMVR rules, the CV industry has also been seeing a brisk movement towards higher tonnage vehicles and tractor trailer combinations. Since the trailer code restrictions have now been fixed at 18.75m length and 4.75m height and HOV Axles is banking on the growing demand for axles in the past 4 months. “According to the new rules, trailers have to operate on 3 axles instead of 2, so the demand is expected to stay around 15-18% over the next 4 years,” Shankar R, Vice President, Sales-OEM, HOV Auto, said. According to the company sources, the focus has been on the car carrier industry that has been largely unorganised and needs regulatory framework for standardization. “Awareness for quality axles will also bring in safety and better loading capacities for the operators,” he said.

The manufacturing unit uses the most advanced technology and equipment in its state-of-the art manufacturing plant at Gujarat Industrial Zone. To produce superior quality auto components, HOV Auto has a strong focus on product research and development and works setting itself apart from its competitors. The production line of HOV is equipped with fully automated machines with cutting edge technology which helps us deliver products with better engineering precision for increased safety and durability. HOV Auto always strives to develop newer and more effective technologies in auto component manufacturing.

HOV Auto looks at markets like Haryana, that leads the car carrier market, and the trailer manufacturers across Punjab, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh regions. The company also has lined up educational centres called YatMit across various locations to increase awareness about quality and standardised products among fleet owners and trailer manufacturers. With almost Rs 100 crore to be invested by HOV Auto in a phased manner, the company also has plans to manufacture air suspensions, drive axles, lift axles along with wheel rims and shafts.

HOV Auto has acquired unmatchable manufacturing standards in India, leading the ‘Make in India’ initiative for trailer components. The USP of the company is in its fullservice supply capabilities that ranges from innovative product conceptualisation to designing and manufacturing superior quality automotive components. With constant emphasis on innovation, extensive geographic footprint, strong relationship with clients and steadfast technological upgradation with global business associates, HOV Auto is gaining a strong market standing in the trailer components manufacturing segment. Based on technologically advanced products and superior customer servicing, the company is building strong, sustainable and durable relationships with its endusers and dealer network.
