Q: How unique is the Pantnagar facility and what are the products manufactured here?

Bhartia: All high-volume products are being made at Pantnagar to cater to the entire North Indian customer base, including HMSI, Hero, Maruti, and Yamaha in the NCR belt, and Hero and Bajaj in Uttarakhand. It is a highly efficient plant with the lowest cost of production and highest thru put. Our TPM way of working extends beyond the shopfloor and has become part of the culture here.

Q: What is the current plant capacity utilisation and do you have any expansion plan?

Bhartia: Overall capacity utilisation is at about 88% and we have just completed the expansion of 20% of capacity in March 2018. We do not have any more space available for large expansions here. We will follow the TPM methodology and debottleneck to grow another 20% in the next 2 years. Revenue from this plant will grow by about 25% this year.

Q: How do you ensure customer satisfaction?

Bhartia: We have developed our business with all customers over the years and enjoy a high share of the business. This is done by consistently meeting customer expectation, leading to a high level of trust and reliability. We as a company, have been extremely focused on what we do, and how we do it. We invest a lot of time in planning and risk mitigation, which leads to zero failures. This leads to a high level of customer satisfaction.
