Super SUV Urus now in India
CONSIDERED AMONGST the most anticipated SUVs in the country, the Italian supercar manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini launched the Urus—its super sport utility vehicle in India. This will be Lamborghini’s second SUV in its lineup after the LM002 SUV which was discontinued in 1993. It is built on the Volkswagen MLB EVO platform which is shared by the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg as well.
The Lamborghini Urus gets an all-new 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 twin-turbo engine, a first for Lamborghini. The engine produces about 641bhp and a whopping 850Nm of torque, which propels the 2.2 tonne SUV from 0-100kmph in just 3.6 seconds. The engine is mated to an 8-speed transmission. The SUV also gets central torsion differential 4-wheel drive with added torque vectoring rear differential. Priced at Rs 3 crore, ex-showroom Delhi, it will go head to head with the MercedesAMG G63 and the Bentley Bentayga.
