Mass-scale electric mobility in 30 years
THE SOCIETY of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has published a whitepaper that states it will take India till 2047 to achieve complete adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs). In the report, a roadmap has been presented to the government so as to achieve complete electric mobility. The roadmap advises the following goals set for the year 2030, such as 40 per cent of all new vehicles to be EVs, all new inter-city transport to be EVs and 60 per cent of all new vehicles to employ hybrid technology. SIAM sees India becoming a fully-electric mobility country by 2047.
