VW pulls the plug on Beetle

Auto Today - - Update! -

EARLIER THIS month, German carmaker Volkswagen announced that the iconic Beetle will bid adieu to the world as the company will stop its production next year. After almost 7 decades, the company has decided to pull the plug on the Beetle, as the sales have reduced and the company is now concerntrating mass market products. To celebrate this last hoorah, Volkswagen introduced the Beetle Final Edition in both coupe and convertible body styles. The new Beetle will share resemblance to the last Beetle produced at the company’s Mexico plant back in 2003 and will be on sale till the end of next year.

But fret not, as the company has no intention of putting the Beetle to bed, as the company will soon introduce an electric version of the Beetle. VW is currently working on its EV strategy and the Beetle is very much part of it, and we will get some more information on this in the coming months.
