SBI seeks con­sul­tant for mar­ket risk

State Bank of In­dia is propos­ing to adopt the lat­est de­vel­op­ments in mar­ket risk in view of the re­cent guide­lines is­sued by var­i­ous reg­u­la­tors in­clud­ing Re­serve Bank of In­dia, SEBI, Bank for In­ter­na­tional Set­tle­ment (BIS) and over­seas reg­u­la­tors. The bank is plan­ning to have a mar­ket risk con­sul­tant to help it im­ple­ment the global best prac­tices in mar­ket risk. The so­lu­tions that are to be im­ple­mented for the pur­pose would be at the en­ter­prise level. The con­sul­tant will be in­volved in iden­ti­fy­ing risks in trea­sury op­er­a­tions at global mar­kets and IBG and cre­at­ing a con­trol frame­work, devel­op­ment of a mech­a­nism for put­ting in place in­ter­na­tional best prac­tices in risk man­age­ment in trea­sury op­er­a­tions and pro­vide a third party in­de­pen­dent view of ad­e­quacy of con­trols.
