Papua central bank in blockchain trials
Papua New Guinea’s central bank is running blockchain trials. The governor of the central bank Loi Bakani recently hosted a conference to highlight the country’s commitment to blockchain technology and several global firms engaged in the research of blockchain and cryptocurrency sent their representatives. Bakani described the blockchain trials underway at the Bank of Papua New Guine and introduced the PNG Digital Commerce and Cryptocurrency Association for the growing number of Papua New Guinea tech entrepreneurs and businesses interested in blockchain technology. He also said the country would join Global Blockchain Forum along with Australia, Canada, U.S.A., Dubai, UK and Japan.
