Pa­pua cen­tral bank in blockchain tri­als

Pa­pua New Guinea’s cen­tral bank is run­ning blockchain tri­als. The gov­er­nor of the cen­tral bank Loi Bakani re­cently hosted a con­fer­ence to high­light the coun­try’s com­mit­ment to blockchain tech­nol­ogy and sev­eral global firms en­gaged in the re­search of blockchain and cryp­tocur­rency sent their rep­re­sen­ta­tives. Bakani de­scribed the blockchain tri­als un­der­way at the Bank of Pa­pua New Guine and in­tro­duced the PNG Digital Com­merce and Cryp­tocur­rency As­so­ci­a­tion for the grow­ing num­ber of Pa­pua New Guinea tech en­trepreneurs and busi­nesses in­ter­ested in blockchain tech­nol­ogy. He also said the coun­try would join Global Blockchain Fo­rum along with Aus­tralia, Canada, U.S.A., Dubai, UK and Ja­pan.
