Gopinath is chair­man, Grameen Koota

M.N. Gopinath has been elected chair­man of Grameen Koota Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices. He suc­ceeds Vi­natha Reddy, the founder chair­per­son of the com­pany, who has re­mit­ted of­fice af­ter a long stint of 18 years. She in­tends to pur­sue new so­cial ven­tures - Yunus So­cial Fund, Ban­ga­lore and Grameen Af­ford­able Shel­ters. Gopinath is a ca­reer banker and has served Bank of In­dia and ICICI Bank for over 35 years. Af­ter re­tire­ment from ICCI Bank, he served on the boards of Bank of In­dia for 6 years and Pun­jab Na­tional Bank for 3 years. He has been the Chair­man of ICICI Pru­den­tial Trust since 2009 and a direc­tor of ICICI Pru­den­tial Pen­sion Fund Man­age­ment Co since 2011. He has also served as a nom­i­nee direc­tor of ICICI Bank on the boards of ICICI Home Fi­nance, ICICI Web Trade and Stock Hold­ing Cor­po­ra­tion. He has also been a mem­ber of the SEBI Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil since 2012.
