Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, the largest Shariacompliant bank in the UAE, is proposing to provide significant financial resources on digital technology. The bank, which has one of the highest proportion of local customers among UAE banks, does not wish to cut down on staff or branch network as some other banks are doing by adopting digital, but it intends to continue with human interaction with customers. The bank will partner with fintechs and at the same open more across the country. An official of the bank said the bank considers human touch to be very important and would opt for a hybrid model - digital with a human touch.
