Bala­sub­ra­ma­nian leaves HDFC Bank

K. Bala­sub­ra­ma­nian, who joined HDFC Bank as group head for cor­po­rate bank­ing, is leav­ing the bank to re­turn to Citi Group in just about a year’s time. He is ex­pected to hold a se­nior po­si­tion in Citi as head of the cor­po­rate bank­ing for South Asia. Bala­sub­ra­ma­nian had spent nearly 2 decades in Citi and was MD for its In­dian cor­po­rate bank­ing op­er­a­tions be­fore he joined HDFC Bank. It is ex­pected that he will now re­place Rahul Shukla as the head of Citi’s cor­po­rate bank­ing for South Asia and will be based in Mumbai. Shukla will be tak­ing a larger role at Citi. Bala­sub­ra­ma­nian was ear­lier re­port­ing to Kaizad Bharucha, ED at HDFC Bank, who leads the whole­sale bank­ing busi­ness in the bank.
