SBI set­ting up trans­for­ma­tion man­age­ment of­fice

State Bank of In­dia is set­ting up a trans­for­ma­tion man­age­ment of­fice (TMO) at its Global IT Cen­ter in CBD Be­la­pur and it is seek­ing pro­pos­als from ser­vice providers on a BOT model. The TMO will func­tion as a cen­tral hub to gather pipe­line of ideas/strate­gic ini­tia­tives across the or­ga­ni­za­tion. It will be a cen­ter of ex­cel­lence and will fa­cil­i­tate busi­ness and tech­nol­ogy col­lab­o­ra­tion and in­no­va­tion labs and cross team col­lab­o­ra­tion be­sides be­ing a cen­tral hub that pro­vides req­ui­site ca­pa­bil­i­ties (peo­ple, process, and tech­nol­ogy), shares in­for­ma­tion, get­ting meth­ods and skills in­cul­cated (in­clud­ing train­ing) for achiev­ing suc­cess­ful de­liv­ery of key strate­gic and trans­for­ma­tion projects. In ad­di­tion, it will man­age the port­fo­lio of trans­for­ma­tion projects and en­sur­ing the de­liv­ery of these projects with ben­e­fits mea­sure­ment and rec­on­cil­i­a­tion (mov­ing from Out­put based to Out­come based ex­e­cu­tion and de­liv­ery). It will man­age and mon­i­tor the IT port­fo­lio of projects, en­hance syn­ergy be­tween var­i­ous IT de­part­ments, pro­vide gov­er­nance for change man­age­ment, pro­vide frame­work for value re­al­iza­tion from projects. The TMO shall work closely with busi­ness lead­er­ship and be the ‘change agent’. The bank in­tends to set up the TMO on a build, op­er­ate and trans­fer mode in phases.
