SBI setting up transformation management office
State Bank of India is setting up a transformation management office (TMO) at its Global IT Center in CBD Belapur and it is seeking proposals from service providers on a BOT model. The TMO will function as a central hub to gather pipeline of ideas/strategic initiatives across the organization. It will be a center of excellence and will facilitate business and technology collaboration and innovation labs and cross team collaboration besides being a central hub that provides requisite capabilities (people, process, and technology), shares information, getting methods and skills inculcated (including training) for achieving successful delivery of key strategic and transformation projects. In addition, it will manage the portfolio of transformation projects and ensuring the delivery of these projects with benefits measurement and reconciliation (moving from Output based to Outcome based execution and delivery). It will manage and monitor the IT portfolio of projects, enhance synergy between various IT departments, provide governance for change management, provide framework for value realization from projects. The TMO shall work closely with business leadership and be the ‘change agent’. The bank intends to set up the TMO on a build, operate and transfer mode in phases.
