Hero Splendor iSmart

Hero MotoCorp recently launched their new, inhouse developed Splendor iSmart 110 at a price of Rs 53,300 (ex-Delhi). The new Splendor iSmart 110 is indeed a smart motorcycle as it uses Hero’s i3S or Idle Start Stop System whereby the engine shuts down after idling for 10 seconds. It comes back to life when you pull in the clutch. Simple and effective technology for better fuel-efficiency, we must say.

The bigger change comes in the form of the new 110cc engine which, the company claims, was developed in-house. The power output of the 109.1-cc motor stands at 9.5 PS and the torque output is 9.0 Nm. We carry a first-ride report in this very issue on page 78.
