Leg Five
Indianapolis to Summit Rider Steve Fraser (Australia) Distance Covered 6,043 km EDUARDO’S RIDE CAME TO AN END IN INDIAN FROM where Steve Fraser took over for the fifth leg of the Globetrotter 90. Steve is an Australian from Kalamunda, Perth. He is a professional photographer but also loves adventure. This leg of the trip saw the Aussie visit Jerry Dean, a collector who has bikes ranging from single-cylinder motorcycles from the 1950s to superbikes from the ’90s. Steve also visited Daytona, a must-visit track for motorcyclists from around the world. Daytona is also the venue where Franco Farnè, the first Italian rider, piloted his 125 Desmo to victory here in 1959. From here Steve made his way to Fort Lauderdale, where he met a lot of collectors, including famous Ducati collectors who have a wide variety of bikes in their collection. This leg of the trip came to an end in an epic way when Steve reached the Summit, the place where Adriano Cavalieri Ducati made his first radio communication between Europe and America in 1924. At the Summit Eduardo completed his part of the journey and the bike was now Europe-bound.
