The MRF FMSCI IndIan natIonal Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) is into its second half of the season with just one more round left. While some racers look all set to clinch their respective championships, others have to up their game if they want to stay in contention. In an interesting turn of events, the Stock Class Ladies declared their champion after other contenders earned disqualifications. All that and much more from the second weekend of September. Read on.

RACE ONE

Udipta Kumar (Bhubaneswar) crashed along with another racer during the first lap of the race. The race was redflagged and Udipta was taken to the hospital for medical attention. The race was restarted again, this time with only six laps until the finish. Deepak Ravi Kumar (Moto-Rev, Chennai) edged out the competition and claimed top spot. Immediately behind him, Antony Peter (Team Alisha Abdullah, Coimbatore) and Amarnath Menon (Gusto Racing India, Kerala) were engaged in a fierce battle for the second step on the podium. Eventually, Antony emerged the victor, leaving championship leader Amarnath to settle for third place. The best lap of the race was set by Abhishek Vasudev (Moto-Rev, Bengaluru) at 1:08.169.

RACE TWO

After the close contest in the first race, the final race on Sunday was expected to be another high-octane affair but it turned out to be pretty cut and dry. Deepak rode a brilliant race and emerged the unchallenged winner, making it two-for-two that race weekend. Antony finished second yet again, while Amarnath took third place. Amarnath did not seem his usual self because he finished almost 14 seconds behind the race leader.

Deepak (25) emerged winner of both races
