Vimal Sumbly Joins Royal Enfield
VIMAL SUMBLY HAS RELINQUISHED HIS POSITION AS MD OF TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLE India to j oin Royal Enfield as their head of Asia-Pacific. Initially, he will be based in Gurugram, Haryana, and will later move to Thailand to oversee Royal Enfield’s Asia-Pacific operations.
Vimal Sumbly recently said on the social media that he had made the move to Royal Enfield, putting an end to all rumours surrounding his next employer. Incidentally, speculation about his next move had been rife ever since he left Triumph.
Sumbly was instrumental in establishing the British brand’s presence here in India back in 2013 and was one of the driving forces behind its rapid growth on our shores.
Prior to Triumph, Sumbly worked for Bajaj Auto and was involved in many of the company’s major initiatives.
Royal Enfield have been steadily gaining ground in India and overseas over the last few years and are on the verge of a potential further upswing with the launch of the 650-cc twins towards the end of this year.
We wish Vimal Sumbly the best in his new role at Royal Enfield.
