NHIA re­leases health man­age­ment app in Tai­wan

Tai­wan’s Na­tional Health In­sur­ance Ad­min­is­tra­tion (NHIA) has re­leased a new mo­bile app that can help cit­i­zens man­age their per­sonal health care his­tory more eas­ily. The app, which is not yet ac­ces­si­ble by for­eign na­tion­als even if they are cov­ered by na­tional health in­sur­ance, gives users a com­plete record of their health care us­age over the pre­vi­ous three years. Ac­cord­ing to NHIA, the users can check their most vis­ited hos­pi­tals, their med­i­cal his­tory, and the diseases with which they have been di­ag­nosed, in­clud­ing a rank­ing of the top five. The app can also alert users to du­pli­ca­tions of pre­scrip­tions or other prob­lems with medicines. They can even see what their medicines look like by dou­ble click­ing on the pre­scrip­tion shown on the screen. It also pro­vides re­minders of doc­tor ap­point­ments and when pre­scrip­tions for chronic ill­nesses have to be re­filled. To gain ac­cess to the app, cit­i­zens sim­ply have to in­stall on the mo­bile phones and get au­then­ti­ca­tion by fill­ing in their mo­bile phone num­ber and ID card num­ber.
