Baner Sangam Hydro Electric project by Supra Group

Baner Sangam Hydro Electric project which is a run of river scheme at Baner Khad, tributary of Beas river is located in district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The said project was allotted to M/s Yogindera Powers Ltd with installed capacity of 5.0MW plus provision of 20% overload on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. In the said project two machines each of 2.5MW has been installed with provision for 20% overload. The said project has been successful­ly commission­ed in June, 2016 and the Electricit­y Generated from the same is being supplied at National Grid. Annually about 35 million units are expected to be generated from this project. The said project is also registered under CDM mechanism with UNFCCC and the same is also being upgraded to Gold Standard. Baner Sangam Hydro Electric project is situated about 10km from Kangra town. The power is evacuated through 33KV line and is connected to Darkata sub-station in Ranital. The project has used Sedicon System for removal of silt from Desilting Tank which is Advance Technology in the world and Baner Sangam is the first Small Hydro Electric project in India to install and use this new Advance Technology. This system ensures removal of silt from water on regular basis and by consuming less water which ultimately can be used in generation.
