With 40 years of experience of treating over 10,00,000 patients. Dr. Bakshi has very deeply researched on Allergy, which he explains as: "Allergy can be exogenic (caused mainly by external factors) or endogenic (caused by hereditary or other internal factors). In most cases allergy is endogenic and runs in the family of the patient in the form of Skin (eczema, urticaria, acne, psoriasis, alopecia, leucoderma.), Respiratory (Cough/cold, Allergicrhinitis, sinusitis, Tonsillitis, bronchial-asthma), Digestive (Stomatitis, Heart-burn, pepticulcers, constipation, Diarrhoea, Flatulence), Musculoskeletal disorders (Rheumatoid-arthritis, myalgia, polyarthritis, slipdisc, sciatica, spondylosis, cramps). All four systems have a very close link with each other and it has been proved in the research that these complaints keep on alternating in one's life. For example a patient suffering from eczema in childhood may suffer from bronchial asthma, arthritis, stomach disorders or vice-a-versa in adult hood" So what is inherited is allergy – not its specific manifestation. So one person in a family may have allergic manifestation in the form of recurrent cough and cold while another may inherit a tendency to have allergic rashes in the summers and arthritis during winters, or may have eczema or some form of gastric disorders.
