Qual­ity is a fac­tor we never com­pro­mise,” says the dy­namic Mr. Ajay Bhar­gava (Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor), an engi­neer­ing grad­u­ate from BITS Pi­lani, who joined the group in 1992. SK Sys­tems was the ‘dream come true’ for Late Mr. N.K. Gupta who founded this en­tre­pre­neur­ial ven­ture in 1980 in­volv­ing a mea­ger in­vest­ment of Rs.1.0 lakh. Lit­tle did he per­ceive that he had laid the foun­da­tions of an em­pire in the mak­ing that would carve a dis­tinc­tive niche as a lead­ing player in its in­dus­try seg­ment in In­dia. With a to­tal paid-up cap­i­tal of Rs.4.5 crore, SK Sys­tems is to­day the No. 1 com­pany in In­dia for HVAC sys­tems spe­cially for hy­dro power projects. Our clients, both do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional, bank upon us for our out­stand­ing ser­vices,” ut­ters the charis­matic Mr. Adesh Gupta (son of Late Mr. N.K. Gupta). A 1998 com­merce grad­u­ate from Delhi Univer­sity, he is Di­rec­tor-Ma­te­ri­als of SK Sys­tems. He joined the group in 2001. SK Sys­tems has an ad­vanced man­u­fac­tur­ing unit at Kundli, Sonepat, spread over an area of 40,000 sq.ft. The com­pany had ear­lier im­ported tech­nolo­gies also from U.K. and Canada for man­u­fac­ture of Pulse jet Bag fil­ters and Acid fume scrub­bers. They also have fa­cil­i­ties for the man­u­fac­ture of im­port sub­sti­tutes for var­i­ous kinds of Oil fume ex­haust blow­ers for Tur­bine ap­pli­ca­tion. The group has an in-house R&D de­part­ment to con­duct re­search on cur­rent and fu­tur­is­tic mar­ket trends and tech­nol­ogy and ac­cord­ingly de­velop in­no­va­tive so­lu­tions. “We are an au­tho­rized sys­tem so­lu­tion provider of Voltas. No other player can pro­vide the so­lu­tions we pro­vide in the hy­dro project sec­tor. Our tech­ni­cal ca­pa­bil­i­ties fa­cil­i­tate us to com­plete every project on time,” says a mag­netic Swa­roop Acharya, Di­rec­tor-Projects. A 1999 engi­neer­ing grad­u­ate, Mr. Acharya joined the group in 2000. The group caters to a large client base from across In­dia and over­seas. Few of the clients worth men­tion­ing are BHEL, NHPC, NTPC, An­dritz Hy­dro, Voith hy­dro, Hin­dalco, Sepco, GE En­ergy, and more. SK Sys­tems has re­tained 90% of their clients. “We have team strength of 125 peo­ple, who are ded­i­cated to­wards achiev­ing the group’s ob­jec­tives. They work in a fam­ily-like en­vi­ron­ment with re­spect for each other. They en­joy the best salary pack­age in the in­dus­try. Be­sides, they are en­ti­tled to a plethora of ben­e­fits and fa­cil­i­ties in­clud­ing med­i­cal al­lowance. We have re­tained 90% of our staff with many work­ing even since the last 15 years,” says a vi­va­cious Mrs. Shobha Bhar­gava, Di­rec­tor-Ad­min­is­tra­tion. A 1988 com­merce grad­u­ate from Delhi Univer­sity, she joined the group in 1998. SK Sys­tems looks for­ward to­wards gen­er­at­ing a turnover of Rs.50 crore by 2022. “We are more in­ter­ested in de­liv­er­ing qual­ity jobs rather than fo­cus­ing on quan­tity,” winds up the dis­cern­ing MD Mr. Ajay Bhar­gava.
