On its website, MICE India and Luxury Travel Congress has stated:“According to a recent announcement by GBTA (Global Business Travel Association), India currently has the highest business travel growth rate in the entire world.”
It also shares an inkling that by 2020, about 6.5 million Indians will travel for luxury and for MICE — that’s nearly the population of Paraguay. Currently this number is at around 1.5 million outbound Indians.
Amongst the many Asian countries favoured by India, such as Singapore and Hong Kong, the UAE has listed us as its top source market. This month we’re focussing on its capital city — Abu Dhabi.
On page 52 you will read about the types of MICE trips that companies can plan to the emirate. Further on, in the special section dedicated to Abu Dhabi, we have listed the best sites to visit for a cultural dose and recreational time (page 47). In fact, these can even be enjoyed by solo business travellers, should they wish to extend their stay for the weekend.
Continuing on the topic of MICE, you may find the enchanting Château de Chambord a tempting option in France. Read about its architecturally smart and historic meeting rooms on page 40.
As for a viable MICE option within India, flip further down the book to page 68 for a quick glimpse at Marriott Resort Jaisalmer, in Rajasthan. The city by itself is a pleasure to the eyes, and its flavours, recreated by chefs at the resort are unmissable.
