Oman Air increases frequency between Muscat and Mumbai

Business Traveller (India) - - UPFRONT -

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has launched a third daily flight between Mumbai and Muscat.

The two-hour 50-minute flight takes off from Muscat at 2240 and lands in Mumbai at 0300. The return flight leaves Mumbai at 0405 and reaches Muscat at 0515.

The new service is aimed at offering a convenient time slot to business travellers who wish to depart from Muscat in the evening, only to arrive in Mumbai early morning.

The other two flights from Muscat depart at 0120 and 0900 and arrive in Mumbai at 0540 and 1320 respectively. The return flights leave Mumbai at 1615 and 0655 and reach Muscat at 1730 and 0810 respectively.

Abdulrahman Al-Busaidy, the deputy CEO and chief commercial officer of Oman Air, said: “We are extremely happy to announce this new service between Muscat and Mumbai. The addition of this flight is part of our wider commitment to the Indian market. India is a key destination for Oman Air and the demand for all 11 of our Indian destinations has always been high. Increased frequencies offer yet more choice and convenience to our guests, who will now be able to leave Muscat late in the evening and arrive in Mumbai the following morning. We are sure this new service will prove just as popular as our other Indian routes.”

Oman Air has also increased the frequency to Delhi and Hyderabad from twice daily to three times daily, to Calicut from once daily to three times daily, and to Lucknow from once daily to twice daily. Earlier this year, Oman Air launched a Salalah-Calicut service.

This growth in capacity follows the revision of Air Services agreement between governments of Oman and India in December 2016. It increased the number of weekly seats by 6,258 seats per week, to 27,405 seats for both countries.
