PAN PACIFIC HO­TELS GROUP has launched its sixth prop­erty on the Chinese main­land with the 220-key Pan Pacific Beijing. The Xichengdis­trict ho­tel is sit­u­ated close to Fi­nan­cial Street as well as the cap­i­tal’s ma­jor land­marks, Tianan­men Square and the For­bid­den City. These can also be seen from the Am­ber Lounge on the 18th floor of the prop­erty. Guest rooms start at 45 sqm and suites are also avail­able. Ad­di­tional fa­cil­i­ties in­clude a 20-me­tre-long in­door swim­ming pool – which has a re­tractable glass roof – as well as a 24-hour gym and a spa with sauna and steam fa­cil­i­ties. A con­ser­va­tory-style Win­ter Gar­den is lo­cated on the first floor, di­rectly con­nected to Ex­change, one of the ho­tel’s three restau­rants along­side Chinese eatery, Hai Tien Lo, and Ja­panese restau­rant, Keyaki. ONE UN HO­TEL, which sits next to the United Na­tions build­ing on New York’s East Side wa­ter­front, has re­opened as the Mil­len­nium Hil­ton New York One UN fol­low­ing a ren­o­va­tion project. The ho­tel has un­der­gone ren­o­va­tions worth a to­tal of US$68 mil­lion, since 2012, in­clud­ing up­grades to its 439 guest rooms, meet­ing and event spa­ces, pub­lic ar­eas, and the Am­bas­sador Grill restau­rant. The ho­tel is owned by Mil­len­nium and man­aged by Hil­ton. MAR­RIOTT has opened the first Res­i­dence Inn prop­erty in Lon­don, lo­cated to the south of Lon­don Bridge sta­tion. The ho­tel of­fers a mix­ture of 87 stu­dio, one- and two-bed­room suites with kitchens of­fer­ing a fridge, mi­crowave, hob, oven, dish­washer and cook­ware. Ameni­ties in­clude free wifi and hot break­fast, com­mu­nal laun­dry fa­cil­i­ties, a Grab ‘n Go Mar­ket and a fit­ness cen­tre. The ho­tel will be joined by a sec­ond Res­i­dence Inn prop­erty later this year, when the 307-suite Res­i­dence Inn Lon­don Kens­ing­ton opens on War­wick Road in Earls Court.
