Kullu to get air con­nec­tiv­ity

In an ef­fort to pro­mote tourism in Kullu, Union Min­is­ter of State for Civil Avi­a­tion, Jayant Sinha, along with Union Health Min­is­ter J P Nadda, an­nounced a flight ser­vice be­tween Chandigarh and Kullu – a pop­u­lar hill sta­tion in Hi­machal Pradesh. Flights will launch as a part of the car­rier’s sum­mer sched­ule next year, March 27 on­wards.

Air In­dia’s sub­sidiary Al­liance Air will op­er­ate its 72-seater ATR72 air­craft for the 45-minute flight be­tween Kullu and Chandigarh. The driv­ing dis­tance be­tween the two is usu­ally around seven hours.

The daily Al­liance Air flight will take off at 8:35am from Kullu-Manali air­port and ar­rive in Chandigarh air­port at 9:10am. From Chandigarh, the re­turn flight will take off at 9:50am and land in Kullu-Manali air­port at 10:35am.
