Plight of the world’s de­plet­ing wa­ter re­sources is high­lighted in the re­cently launched Oris Aquis diver’s watch — Source of Life.

e in­ten­tion is to spread aware­ness about wa­ter pol­lu­tion and wa­ter con­ser­va­tion. Oris is known for work­ing with pas­sion­ate divers who have achieved laud­able goals, and are pas­sion­ate about the ocean.

e de­sign be­hind Source of Life is in uenced by the journey of River Rhine — start­ing from the Swiss Alps, run­ning along the Höl­stein vil­lage, and merg­ing into the North Sea. All 1,233km of the river’s course is em­bossed on the case back of the time­piece.

e blue grey dial is in­spired by the chang­ing colour of the river as it makes it journey across six coun­tries. It is wa­ter-re­sis­tant up to 300 me­tres and has lu­mi­nes­cent hands. e watch’s au­to­matic move­ment also op­er­ates a white in­di­ca­tor that moves along the date ring (marked one to 31) at the cen­tre of the dial. It is avail­able with a grey rub­ber strap or a stain­less steel bracelet. Limited to 2,343 pieces.
