Evoque Goes Topless; Range Rover Turns 45
LAND ROVER RECENTLY INTRODUCED THE RANGE ROVER EVOQUE Convertible, the world’s first all-season, all-road convertible SUV. It packs stunning design elements but retains its Range Rover heritage with Terrain-Response drive modes. It takes 18 seconds for the roof to drop and 21 seconds to go back up, remaining operational at up to 50 km/h. The convertible model has the new Ingenium 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with either 163 or 180 PS, while the Si4 turbo-petrol continues with 240 PS.
Range Rover recently completed 45 years, and went to Suzhou in China to celebrate. A town known for its bridges, J-LR built a bridge five metres long and 3.4 metres high completely out of paper there, and once it was ready, drove a full-fledged 2,000-kg Range Rover across it to mark this momentous occasion.
