The smallest SUV in India from the iconic Jeep brand, the Compass, has arrived, starting at a seriously competitive Rs 14.95 lakh for the base petrol ‘Sport’ variant and going up to Rs 20.65 lakh for the topend diesel 4x4 Limited (O) variant, both ex-showroom. There are three variants plus two option variants each to choose from.
Jeep announced that the Compass has garnered over 5,000 bookings already, a bulk of them for the diesel 4x2 variants. Deliveries begin this month, with those for the automatic petrol variant starting around the festive season. The manual petrol variant will have the longest waiting period. The Compass petrol packs a 162-PS , 250-Nm, 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo-four, with the diesel using the famed 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel with 173 PS and 350 Nm.
