Volk­swa­gen T-Cross and Vento

Volk­swa­gen have re­vealed their plans for a new SUV, the T-Cross, a new en­try-level crossover po­si­tioned be­low the T-Roc.

The new T-Cross will be based on the MQB plat­form, which should al­low for a more spa­cious cabin and also pack a range of in­no­va­tive safety fea­tures. The T-Cross will be the next SUV in the VW stable fol­low­ing the T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace, and the new Touareg. The new T-Cross should be launched in In­dia, China, and South Amer­ica. Volk­swa­gen re­cently an­nounced their plan to de­velop the MQB-A0 plat­form in In­dia with Škoda. We may ex­pect the T-Cross to even­tu­ally be built here.

Cer­tain global mar­kets, such as Brazil, have seen the introduction of the lat­est MQBbased de­riv­a­tive of the Vento, the Vir­tus. The Vir­tus is a sedan based on the new Polo and fea­tures a re­vised pow­er­train and im­proved in­te­rior over the cur­rent Polo and Vento on sale in In­dia. With Volk­swa­gen’s ex­pan­sion plans in In­dia in­clud­ing the MQB-A0 plat­form, we may ex­pect some new mod­els as well.
